DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nNext Stop Melbourne is a contemporary African-Australian arts and performance festival that is set to take over the streets of Melbourne’s Southbank (click here for directions) on February 1.  Next Stop Melbourne is a free\, all-day series of events\, and everyone is invited. \nThe extensive line-up features both established and emerging artists from the African-Australian diaspora\, ranging from contemporary music and experimental dance to theatre\, spoken word\, painting and poetry. It is a family-friendly event that will also include a fashion parade\, hair braiding and face painting. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nNext Stop Melbourne’s vision is both fiercely contemporary and diasporic\, and refuses to put limitations on what ‘African’ or ‘Australian’ can mean. \n\n\n
