Africa Day Festival is Brisbane’s signature event on the lawns of African House
Come experience rich and colourful African cultures at the Africa Day Festival
10am – 5pm
Sunday 31 May 2015
African House
Jean Howie Drive, Morningside
The festival showcases African art, clothing, dance, music and food, with activities for kids. There are also workshops on African drumming and many more.
Festival goers can enjoy lunch at the food marquees, browse the many stalls with African inspired items. Then stay for the fantastic traditional performances on stage before having a drink at our bar to close out the day.
This is an opportunity to bring together African communities to celebrate our cultures with each other and the rest of the community. Everyone is welcome at this free event – we want to see many colourful faces on the day.
Over 7,000 people attend the festival, now in its fifth year.
The festival is supported by the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council, and sponsored by MDA, QPASTT, Minuteman Press Woollongabba, TAFE Queensland English Language and Literacy Services (TELLS) and Goodlife Health Clubs.
